Mars

The clay granulate in SERAMIS®, the plantcare system from Mars, comes from Mogendorf. In 1990, the company settled there to take advantage of the fine clay being dug out of the local mines.

Location

The Mogendorf community is situated in the Lower Westerwald between Montabaur and the Rhine River.

Attractions

The Westerwald is one of the most beautiful forests in the Low Mountain Range of Germany and is treasured by both nature lovers and outdoor sports fanatics. A part of the Westerwald is the so-called Kannenbäckerland, which is where Mogendorf is located. Kannenbäcker are potters who actually make those ceramic pots, jugs, plates and cups. The material they have been using for centuries is right there in the earth: high quality clay.
